Stars and Stripes Forever

Sadly, one of my favorite stores, Gypsy Warrior, has closed. I never got a chance to visit the actual store but I ordered a lot of clothing through their website. I was able to get a few more items before they were sold out.

This black and white striped dress was one of the pieces of clothing I was able to order a few months prior to Gypsy Warrior’s closing. This dress is very sheer so I wore a pair of white capris and a black tank top underneath it.

Even though this exact dress is no available, you can find similar ones in stores. If you have a sheer dress like this one, there are a few different ways you can style it. This dress can be worn with jeans or capris. I wore it buttoned up but it can also be worn unbuttoned with a shirt or tank top underneath it.

Since this dress is a bit oversized on me I decided to cinch it at the waist with a tassel belt from the Fall Box of Style. To match my black leather belt, I wore a pair of black slip on shoes from Betsey Johnson.

As you can see, I had a lot of black and white going on throughout this outfit so I wore a pair of bright blue sunglasses for a pop of color. This was also an outfit that needed a hat to complete the entire look.

Honestly, when I first got this dress I was a little worried about how I was going to style it since it is so sheer. After thinking about it and being creative I was able to come up with a fun, summer look.

If you have a sheer dress similar to this one and are not sure how to style it, try wearing a neutral pair of capris or jeans and a tank top underneath the dress. If you want to cinch the dress at the waist, wear a fun belt. Do not feel like there is nothing you can do about a sheer dress, you just have to be creative and think outside the box!
